  • Marketing and Communications Data: Includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.

We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offenses.

The UK Government has determined that this framework provides an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the UK to certified US organizations.
  • Standard Contractual Clauses / IDTA: Where a provider is not certified under the Data Privacy Framework, we may use specific contracts approved by the UK Government (the International Data Transfer Agreement or “IDTA”) which give personal data the same protection it has in the UK.

  • Analytics Data: We have configured Google Analytics 4 to retain user-level data for as long as needed, after which it is automatically deleted.
  • Marketing Data: We retain your email address for newsletter distribution until you unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, your data is moved to a “suppression list” to ensure we do not contact you again, in compliance with PECR.
  • Comments: Comments and their associated metadata are retained indefinitely. This is to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

9. Your Legal Rights

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”).
  • Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you.
  • Request erasure of your personal data (“Right to be Forgotten”). Note that we may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.
  • Object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the absolute right to object where we are processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
  • Request restriction of processing of your personal data.
  • Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data.
